HTSA Prepares Members and Vendors for New Generation of Technology Buyers at Annual Fall Conference

Barrington, IL – Members of the Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) will gather alongside vendor partners in Chicago next week for the buying group’s annual Fall Conference. This year, HTSA has developed over 20 individual sessions tailored to combat a variety of business and marketing challenges to ensure integrator members and manufacturers across the nation have the tools needed to surpass the competition.

Representatives from leading member companies along with key HTSA vendors, will build upon topics covered at the group’s inaugural Tech Forum this summer, from the importance of owning the network to best practices when hiring and retaining productive employees. Over half of the sessions will be led by HTSA vendors, who possess valuable inside knowledge on not only their products, but the state of the industry as well. Many of the sessions this fall were created to not only help attendees maintain their current customer base, but to give members and vendors tools they need to reach the new generation of millennial home buyers who have a different set of expectations than their baby boomer predecessors when it comes to home technology.

“We want to take every step possible and bring in a varied lineup of industry experts who can arm our members and vendors with the knowledge and skills it takes to succeed in this changing home technology space,” said Bob Hana, managing director of HTSA. “Integrators have to understand the way both their existing and new customer bases think about new home technology and provide them with proper expertise and solutions to stay current.”

Key pieces of a service-oriented company such as a clean, modernized website along with a strategic digital marketing plan can help convince prospective customers that an integrator’s business may be worth their investment. At the conference, members will have the opportunity to learn numerous new inbound marketing techniques including video marketing, sales automation and driving the lead funnel.

New sessions created for the Fall Conference include luxury selling, where discussion leaders will share merchandising and training tactics with members and vendors on selling and marketing high-end products and solutions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from experts on the importance of establishing and managing a professional sales team that can bring real value to their organizations during the Sales Team and Sales Management break-out sessions.

After all the sessions have been completed, the Fall Conference will conclude with VendorFest, where HTSA affiliated manufacturers can showcase new products and members can experience them first-hand. With CEDIA Expo taking place just weeks after the Fall Conference, HTSA VendorFest presents a unique opportunity for attending manufacturers to preview brand-new products to their customers. This year, HTSA members will be able to walk into CEDIA Expo armed with insight on what products will be shaping their projects and driving revenue for the final quarter.
