HD Radio™ Artist Spotlight to Shine on Robert Earl Keen’s Billboard #1 Bluegrass Album “Happy Prisoner”

Columbia, Maryland – May 20, 2015 – iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of digital HD Radio Technology for AM and FM audio and data broadcasting, and Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) have announced that Robert Earl Keen will be the next artist featured in the “HD Radio Artist Spotlight” program.

iBiquity’s partnership with Robert Earl Keen will build awareness of HD Radio broadcasting and promote Robert’s new album, Happy Prisoner. The program will include radio promotions and contests, as well as a trip for two to Nashville to join Robert Earl at his July 23, 2015 performance at the historic Ryman Auditorium.

“We are excited to continue to build the HD Radio Artist spotlight program,” said Mason Hunter, Executive Director, Strategic Partnerships/Business Development at Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI).    “Robert Earl Keen is a stalwart for BMI and is an artist who has been consistently releasing outstanding music for over three decades.  His latest release, Happy Prisoner, is no exception. We are thrilled to have a partner in iBiquity Digital who recognizes his talent and ongoing contribution to songwriting. The HD Radio Experience delivers digital quality sound, unique content, and exposure to artists like Robert in order to enhance the experience of their listeners,” continued Hunter.

“Robert Earl Keen is a unique talent with a long history of making music his way, and his fans love him for it,” said Joe D’Angelo, Senior Vice President of iBiquity Digital.  “We are extremely proud to be able to work with Robert and look forward to bringing his latest project to radio fans across the country.”

“I keep my ear to the future and that’s why I love the HD Radio Experience,” added Robert Earl Keen.

The HD Radio Artist Spotlight enters its second year with an impressive track record, supporting such artists as Charlie Worsham, Ashley Monroe, Due West, John Pardi, Muddy Magnolias, George Ducas and Toby Lightman.  This new music initiative was created to help support up-and-coming artists and grow established acts by supporting tours, connecting them with local HD Radio stations and creating new experiences for fans.  Using HD Radio technology, stations are creating new broadcast channels, known as HD2s and HD3s, which are the perfect outlets for new music discovery.

The relationship between BMI and iBiquity Digital has grown from their partnership in successful music events including the Key West Songwriter Festival, The Island Hopper Songwriters Festival, CMJ Music Festival, SXSW, Crested Butte Songwriter Festival, as well as artist promotions.
