Genre-Defying New Content Now Available for Novel/Videogame Crossover Bedlam

London, October 30th, 2014: RedBedlam has released a new content update for its novel genre-hopping FPS, Bedlam. Two new game worlds inspired by popular role-playing and real-time strategy titles with a twist are available to play right now.

Bedlam will also have a 50% discount sale on Steam from Monday, November 3rd to Sunday November 9th, making it just $9.99.

Calastria, the first of two huge new game worlds, sees protagonist Athena thrown into a fantasy RPG inspired realm. Equipped with a magical sword, she must chop and slice her way through hordes of undead skeleton warriors, eventually facing off with a colorful and rather unusual boss character(s).

Meanwhile the RTS inspired Age of Attrition, gets scale wrong in the best way possible, giving players the opportunity to tower over minuscule opponents. A narrative-heavy world, Age of Atrition is riddled with intrigue, allowing players to finally uncover key information on opposing sides ‘The Integrity’ and ‘The Diasporadoes’.

“We’re having a great time expanding the Bedlam universe. The new game worlds were huge fun to create and they’re even better to play. Rocket-jumping around an RPG is an absolute blast.” said Nick Witcher, Marketing Director at RedBedlam.

The new content update brings the early-access build of Bedlam to over 20 levels – all available at a 50% discount from Monday November 3rd.

Bedlam is scheduled for a full release in Q1 2015.

About Bedlam
In Bedlam, players will take on the role of Heather Quinn (aka Athena), a programmer at medical scanning developer Neurosphere who finds herself transported into the world of Starfire: a nineties FPS she remembers from her teen years. Searching for an explanation and a way home, she ventures beyond Starfire to discover a vast realm of interconnected game worlds documenting the evolution of the FPS genre and of video games in general.

Bedlam is adapted from the novel by Christopher Brookmyre, but diverges from the original in this change of protagonist. The novel’s hero, Ross Baker, does feature prominently in the game, but the switch to a female lead – who is a gamer and sci-fi fan – offered a fresh and bitingly humorous new perspective upon the “gameverse” that the player will explore.
