DANI is the first SKAA transmitter to have both SKAA and SKAA Pro transmitting capabilities engineered specifically for the DJ community as well as other similarly demanding pro audio applications.”
One of the principal disadvantages of using traditional wireless audio solutions in a pro audio setting is inherent latency issues and navigating through an abundance of wireless traffic. SKAA’s low latency ability is something that Bluetooth® and WiFi audio-based solutions cannot accomplish for many reasons. However, there are even more demanding applications, such as live performance (DJ) that require even lower latency. This is where SKAA Pro takes over.
“DANI’s SKAA Pro technology is fully compatible within the SKAA standard,” Whitehead continued. “With a low latency of 19ms with 1:2 relation, DANI is ideal for DJ duos, portable DJ set-ups and other pro applications. In addition, there is no paring required and SKAA Pro transmitters, and DANI in particular, are fully compatible/interchangeable with both existing as well as future SKAA speakers in the marketplace, making the transition seamless to the end user.”
DANI can feed four SKAA speakers or headphones in SKAA mode (at 36 ms latency), or feed two SKAA speakers or headphones in SKAA Pro mode (at 19 ms latency), which is great for lightning fast scratching and finger drumming. DANI’s thrus are also great for a hybrid system in which there are wired speakers in the front of the room and wireless speakers in the back of the room. The deck’s output connects to inputs 1/2, and then thrus 1/2 feed the amplifiers.
“DANI can handle a wide range of line level signals from the wimpy to the extreme,” Whitehead explained. “The thrus also enable you to run two DANI transmitters at the same time in order to double your wireless speakers at a gig. Connect your mixer out to DANI’s A’s inputs, then connect DANI A’s thrus to DANI B’s inputs using two TRS balanced patch cables. With up to 50 meter reliable indoor range with the included 2 dBi antenna, it’s really that easy to create the ideal wireless DJ rig in even the most demanding applications and situations, whether indoor or outdoor.”
