EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada, Dec. 4, 2017 – Eleven Engineering, Inc. (www.elevenengineering.com), a market leader in semiconductor products for wireless audio for home theater, multi-room, portable, professional, 12 Volt (car, truck, motorcycle, power sports, marine) and gaming applications, has announced a trade-in program that will run through Feb. 28, 2018 to replace SKAA® “Diz” transmitters affected by customers who have upgraded to the iOS 11 operating system.
“Let’s reiterate the initial issue first,” said John Sobota, Eleven Engineering CEO. “As you probably already know by now, if you upgraded your device to iOS 11, SKAA Diz transmitters for Lightning connector-equipped iPhones, iPads, and iPods have stopped working. Diz is an Apple-approved accessory and had passed all technical requirements, so it was a surprise to us that it wasn’t working properly after the upgrade to iOS11. After getting down to the root of the issue, we discovered that there is a certain digital handshake process that was not checked prior to iOS11, but iOS11 dutifully checks for this handshake. In our study, we determined we were not executing this handshake properly and, therefore, iOS 11 refuses to send audio to Diz and that is why customers have been unable to transmit SKAA audio from their iOS device using Diz SKAA transmitters since upgrading to iOS 11.”
Sobota continued, “Now for the good news. This may sound strange, but we are happy we found the issue on our side because this gives us control over fixing it. We’ve already fixed the problem with Diz and we’re offering a trade-in program. Customers can return their Diz to us and we’ll ship them a reprogrammed Diz with the digital handshake problem corrected. Outside of the nominal fees to ship us the old one and to receive the new one, there are no additional costs to the consumer. Now, here’s the amazing part…this offer is open to anyone who owns a Diz transmitter, even those who did not purchase a Diz from SKAAstore.com directly. For example, say they have a Diz purchased from Korus. No problem, we’ve got their back.”
Eleven Engineering will run this program through February 28, 2018. To participate, go to SKAA.com/TLC and use the form to send Eleven Engineering a message with “Diz for iOS11” in the subject line to initiate the trade-in process.
