NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — Sept. 15, 2025 — HARMAN Luxury Audio Group today announced that Definitive, the Pacific Northwest’s premier luxury audio/video retailer, has been named the first U.S. dealer to carry the JBL Summit Series, a new pinnacle in ultra high-performance loudspeakers designed for the world’s most discerning listeners.
Definitive is the first in a select group of dealers nationwide chosen to represent the JBL Summit line, a portfolio that includes the legendary Everest and K2 along with the new Makalu, Pumori, and Ama models. Each is engineered with JBL’s most advanced acoustic and material technologies and inspired by Himalayan peaks, delivering a listening experience that is both technically masterful and emotionally stirring.
“The JBL Summit Series is truly an emotional audio experience. One that connects listeners to music in the most powerful way,” said Jerry Calder, Sales Director, HARMAN Luxury Audio Group. “This is only the sixth Project Series in the nearly 80-year JBL history and it has been years in the making. Our engineers were told to make this the best JBL loudspeaker ever created, and they delivered. Definitive represents the very best of our industry, and we’re thrilled to begin this journey with them.”
Definitive: A Legacy of Excellence
Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, Definitive has long been recognized for redefining what’s possible in residential audio and custom integration. With its Seattle Experience Center, the firm is known for curating products that combine engineering precision with timeless design, a mission that resonates deeply with the JBL Summit Series.
“Just when we thought our lineup was complete, we asked ourselves the harder question: is there still a gap?” said Sean Skelly, CEO of Definitive. “What surprised us most wasn’t only the performance, but the story. JBL’s legacy goes back nearly eight decades, a company that helped shape how music is made and heard. When we visited Northridge and experienced Summit for the first time, the decision was immediate. We knew our clients had to hear this.”
Definitive’s Icons & Innovators Event
To commemorate both the JBL Summit Series debut and its own 50th anniversary, Definitive will host an exclusive “Icons & Innovators” event on Sept. 18, 2025 at its Bellevue showroom. The invite-only listening session will offer VIP clients a first-hand look — and listen — at the JBL Summit Series in a dedicated acoustic environment.
Two days later, on Sept. 20 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Definitive will welcome the public for an Open House. Guests will have the opportunity to audition the JBL Summit Series loudspeakers in a dedicated listening room. The event will also feature interactive experiences, including the “Blown Away” photo booth, celebrating iconic moments in audio history. It’s a rare opportunity for the broader audiophile community to engage with JBL’s most exclusive loudspeaker line in a setting designed to immerse and inspire.
Press interested in attending either event can reach out to Louis Calli, Head of Marketing at Definitive.
Why JBL Summit Series Matters
The JBL Summit Series is not just a new chapter — it’s a rare moment in audio history. For Definitive, the addition was not about adding another logo to their mix — it was about finding something that could truly elevate the listening experience. What they discovered wasn’t only performance, but balance, a sound that cuts through and a presence that feels both distinct and timeless.
This is not just a product launch. It’s a convergence of legacies: JBL’s nearly 80-year journey in shaping high-fidelity sound, and Definitive’s 50-year commitment to delivering audio that moves the soul.
