SAN JOSE, Calif. — Jan. 26, 2016 — Harmonic (NASDAQ: HLIT), the worldwide leader in video delivery infrastructure, today announced that Brazil’s TV Bandeirantes is expanding its Harmonic infrastructure with the addition of a new Harmonic MediaGrid shared storage system and Spectrum MediaCenter(TM) media server with integrated storage. When installed at the company’s national headend in Sao Paolo, the new Harmonic systems will greatly facilitate TV Bandeirantes’ ability to extend its capacity for further operational and business growth.

TV Bandeirantes will use the new MediaGrid system to support news production, storing clips on the system for edit-in-place work as needed. The Harmonic system also will support occasional post production and compositing work. Finished clips will be delivered directly to the MediaCenter server for playout. Because the MediaCenter server is a format-agnostic, media-centric system, TV Bandeirantes can easily integrate it with the third-party production tools of its choice.
