BenQ’s Latest HT1075 Colorific Home Theater Projector Wins 2014 EXC!TE Award From Technology Integrator

Company’s Home Theater Lineup on Display at CEDIA EXPO 2014

COSTA MESA, Calif. — Sept. 4, 2014 — BenQ America Corp., an internationally renowned provider of visual display solutions and the No. 1-selling DLP(R) projector brand in The Americas(1), today announced that the new Colorific(TM) HT1075 home theater projector has been recognized with a Technology Integrator magazine 2014 EXC!TE Award. Building on the incredible success of the company’s top-selling W1070, the new model combines Rec. 709 color, more than 1 billion color combinations, 3D-readiness, and the realism of full HD 1080p picture quality. What’s more, it adds streaming and mirroring capabilities for devices equipped with Mobile High-definition Link (MHL) to allow the transfer of small-screen content from any portable device. The projector is also capable of sending content wirelessly via an optional connectivity kit. The HT1075 will be on display at CEDIA EXPO 2014 in Denver.

The EXC!TE Award, presented by Technology Integrator magazine, pays tribute to products that stand out for being innovative, high-performing solutions oriented for the custom installation professional. The 2014 winners, selected by the magazine’s editorial staff, stood out as particularly impressive, considering the unique challenges custom installers face every day on the job. The impact these products have on the industry is felt in the installers’ productivity, the dealers’ profitability, the clients’ satisfaction, and the industry’s vitality. Award winners will be honored during CEDIA.

CEDIA EXPO 2014 takes place from Sept. 10-13 and attendees will be able to experience the award-winning HT1075 live at the Elite Screens booth 980. The next-generation HT1075 and its short-throw counterpart, the HT1085ST, were recently released and join the highly acclaimed W7500 home cinema projector as part of BenQ’s home offering. Featuring BenQ’s Colorific image quality, and designed with HDTV Rec. 709 color space and ANSI contrast emphasis, the new HT1075 and HT1085ST deliver more vivid and accurate color reproduction, higher apparent brightness, crisper contrast, and no color fade. Both units offer full HD 1080p and 3D support, while the short-throw HT1085ST allows users to fill screens measuring up to 100 inches by simply setting up the device at only six feet away — making it an ideal choice for urban environments or media room settings where installation space is limited. Adding to the projectors’ razor-sharp imaging are 2,200 ANSI lumens of brightness and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, which turn colors from TV shows, movies, or sporting events into more natural-looking, film-like content. To create a household media hub, users can easily connect Blu-ray(TM) players and gaming consoles to the projectors via HDMI(R) as well as view cloud content using any MHL-ready streaming device, including Roku(R), Chromecast(R), and Apple(R) TV. As a result, viewers can bring their favorite content from popular services such as Netflix(R) or Hulu(TM) onto the screen using their streaming player of choice or even directly from their smart device. Rounding off the unparalleled convenience are the units’ new 10W chamber speakers, which offer rich audio — creating a complete solution whenever a dedicated sound system is not practical, or in outdoor scenarios such as movie night under the stars.

The projectors are ISFccc-certified by the Imaging Science Foundation(R) (ISF(R)), enabling viewers to enjoy a professionally calibrated picture with two optimized modes — ISF Day and ISF Night. Further reducing installation and setup time is a new vertical lens shift option for the HT1075, allowing users to align the projected image perfectly to the center of the screen, eliminating any tedious tinkering. To maximize placement flexibility, both models offer horizontal and vertical keystone correction. Saving money by lowering total cost of ownership, the projectors are equipped with BenQ’s SmartEco(TM) lamp-saving technology to prolong lamp life up to an amazing 6,000 hours while lasting three times as long as projectors sold just a few years ago. Additional cost-saving features include a filter-free design built around a sealed DLP chip that eliminates the need to clean or change messy filters; a unique lamp door design that enables lamp replacement down the road without needing to take down the projector; and a special sleep mode that reduces power consumption to under half a watt when connected but not in use.

Giving homeowners extra placement flexibility, the HT1075 and HT1085ST will support a new optional wireless connectivity kit, sold separately. The fully wireless system will allow users to send content to the projectors from up to 100 feet away, giving users the freedom to move the projectors throughout the house or even take them outdoors without the need to run cable.

For those enthusiasts looking for a more immersive theater experience, the W7500 home cinema projector rounds out the series featuring high-brightness, full HD imaging, and an astounding 60,000:1 contrast ratio for premium Colorific picture quality. The projector is compliant with the Rec. 709 color standard and is equipped with frame interpolation to make the picture more life-like and real. Expanding on the device’s amazing feature set is the ability to convert 2D content into full-out 3D experiences — allowing any movie to come to life. Further, with the integration of Panamorph lenses, users are able to view content in the original Hollywood 2.35:1 widescreen format.
