Torrance, Calif. (Apr. 9, 2015) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. has announced the arrival of a new 9-inch Restyle dash system for Ford F-150 trucks. The X009-FD2 is a new model designed for select 2013-2014 Ford F-150 trucks with the MyFord® 4.2-inch factory screen.
The X009-FD2 is based on the X009, a multi-function system with audio, video and navigation features and a distinctive 9-inch touch screen. Each X009 system comes with a vehicle specific dash kit and back-lit hard keys that cosmetically match the factory dash’s illumination color. Also included are the necessary accessories for plug-and-play installation including an Alpine/vehicle specific harness, antenna adapter (if necessary) and a two-way, data driven vehicle interface module.

The X009-FD2 is compatible with select 2013-2014 Ford F-150 XLT, FX2, FX4 and SVT Raptor models with the MyFord® 4.2-inch factory screen. The X009-FD2 replaces the factory radio and knobs with back-lit keys dedicated to the system’s most used features. The X009-FD2’s dash kit comes in a piano black gloss with chrome trim, creating a sleek and stylish look that fits into the existing dash without the need for extensive modifications.
Other X009 systems currently available are the: X009-FD1, for select 2009-2014 Ford F-150 trucks with the base radio system; X009-RAM, for select 2013-up Ram trucks; X009-TND, for 2007-2013 Toyota Tundra trucks; X009-GM, for lower dash radio styles on select 2007-2013 GM trucks and 2007-2014 GM SUVs; X009-GM2, for upper dash radio styles on select 2007-2013 GM trucks; and the X009U, for custom installations. Also due this spring is a system for the 2011-up Jeep Wrangler (X009-WRA). The 2014-2015 lineup of X009 Alpine Restyle dash systems will be compatible with over eight million trucks and SUVs from the applicable makes, models and years.
Included iDatalink® Maestro Module
The X009-FD2 retains several factory vehicle controls and features through the included iDatalink® Maestro module used with the supplied Ford specific T-harness. Ford factory features that are retained include the SYNC® media player, SYNC®Bluetooth® wireless technology and steering wheel controls. Customized gauges and vehicle information like tire pressure, battery voltage and check engine codes can be viewed on the screen. The X009-FD2 retains parking sensor information which is viewable on the screen along with the rear view camera image (separate camera required, retained features and information display vary by vehicle model).
Audio Features
The X009-FD2 comes with several audio sources including a built-in HD Radio™ receiver for digital FM/AM programming, iPhone® and iPod® music control through the “Made for iPod and iPhone” compatibility, audio streaming, and Pandora® control from iPhone® and Android™ smartphones. The X009-FD2 is SiriusXM Ready and works with the SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit (sold separately, subscription required).
Video, Rear Seat Entertainment, Navigation and Phone Features
The X009-FD2 has a full WVGA high-resolution screen and an HDMI input for connectivity to HDMI-enabled mobile devices (separate adapter required). The Dual Zone feature lets drivers use a source in the dash while the passengers watch a separate video on the rear seat screen (optional rear seat screen sold separately). Navigation features include pre-loaded maps of the United States and Canada; 3D depiction of major landmarks, buildings and terrain details; and free HERE lifetime traffic service. The built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology allows for hands-free calling, secure simple pairing (SSP), call waiting, and icons depicting phone battery level and cellular signal level.
Customizable Sound Tuning and User Settings
Customized sound tuning for the Ford F-150 can be applied through the free Alpine TuneIt App for smartphones. Using an iPhone® or Android™ smartphone, sound setting adjustments specifically for the Ford F-150 can be created or chosen from pre-made settings in the database. The app also notifies users of incoming activity on their Facebook wall through an on-screen pop-up notice. The Alpine TuneIt App with TTS (text-to-speech) is a separate version of the app available for $3.99, which gives users the option to have the message read back via text-to-speech. The “My Favorites” feature lets two users customize quick-access screens with up to 80 shortcuts to their most used features like audio sources, navigation commands and phone settings.
Drive Assist Compatibility
The X009-FD2 is compatible with Alpine’s front and rear view camera systems (sold separately) and overlays a visual parking guide onto the rear view image projected on the screen.
