World Wide Stereo Throws A Party

Fed up with pervasive gloom and doom and unwilling to promote on price, Bob Cole disregarded the prevailing wisdom against holding dealer brand events and did just that.

The principal of Bob and Ron’s World Wide Stereo, an independent A/V specialty dealer based here, recently held a Klipsch-sponsored charity fundraiser and private invitation VIP night at his Montgomeryville, Pa. showroom. Guests were treated to a wine tasting, hot hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, product demos and the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Klipsch Orange County Choppers bike.

“It was just an excuse for a party … Seems folks needed one,” Cole recounted. Turnout was great, he said, the crowd was upbeat, appointments were made, and staffers sold product and spread good will.

What’s more, a raffle for a 42-inch plasma TV and a pair of Klipsch speakers raised funds and awareness for the Philadelphia chapter of Ronald McDonald House.

Following the exclusive Friday night gathering, which featured 20 percent off all Klipsch products, Cole opened the event to the public for the rest of the weekend and was pleased with the traffic. The Klipsch Orange County Choppers bike remained on display through early last month.

Cole, founder of the 30-year-old business, is also a past president of the company’s buying organization, Home Entertainment Source.
