Verizon Specialist TCC Expands To More Than 700 Stores

TCC, the nation’s largest Verizon-exclusive cellular specialist by store count, got even larger with the acquisition of 88 We R Wireless stores in the Northeast, marking the biggest acquisition in TCC’s 24-year history.

The acquisition brings TCC’s store count to more than 700 locations in 37 states.

The acquisition of We R Wireless, also a Verizon specialist, follows the recent acquisition of 55 other Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer outlets. They consisted of 37 Wireless Communications stores in Carolina and Georgia and 18 Phones Plus stores in the Pacific Northwest.

The acquired We R Wireless stores are in Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia. The chain, which operated more than 100 stores before the acquisition, continues to operate stores in Texas and California and a limited number of Northeast locations.

TCC, owed by Round Room, formerly Moorehead Communications, was launched in 1991 out of a single store in Marion, Ind.

The company recently underwent management changes, tapping wireless-industry veteran Omar Khan as its new president. His past positions included several senior roles at Samsung Mobile, including chief strategy officer and chief product and technology officer.

Other recent management changes included the hiring of new COO Andre Tagliamonte and the creation of two new executive positions. They are chief revenue officer, filled by Erik Schlesselman, and chief administrative officer, filled by Jay Sichting. They joined CEO and former president Scott Moorehead.
