VAC's Tom Campbell Goes Hollywood At HTSA 20th Anniversary Gathering

Tom Campbell, corporate director of Los Angeles’ Video & Audio Center CE chain, joined a host of headliners last week when the Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) gathered for its 20th Anniversary Fall Conference in Chicago.

Campbell, a Consumer Technology Association (CTA) Hall of Famer who was also recently elected to the trade group’s 2017 Video Division board, will discuss the need for continued collaboration between the Hollywood studios and the TV industry when he speaks before the custom-integration buying group next Tuesday.

Also on the bill was a keynote address by Alicia Rainwater, a certified generation speaker from the Center for Generational Kinetics. Rainwater will help group members sharpen their age-specific sales and marketing skills through a better understanding of the five unique generations of consumers currently in the marketplace.

Members also attended a panel discussion on voice control by leading industry journalists including CEDIA Fellow Jeremy Glowacki, editor of TWICE sister publications Residential Systems and editorial director of parent company NewBay Media.

There was also a series of ten separate breakout sessions that comprised HTSA’s popular member/vendor discussion groups, including the Campbell-led topic of “How To Best Leverage Your Brand.”

“The leadership team at HTSA [has] worked hard to develop a program for our 20th Anniversary Fall Conference that we think will be both thought-provoking and helpful in assisting members with information on all of the latest technologies and techniques to advance their business,” said HTSA executive director Jon Robbins. “We are particularly delighted with the keynote appearance by Alicia Rainwater … who we think will offer a real eye-opening presentation with actionable steps that will allow our members to drive greater sales with smarter generation-savvy approaches.”

More than 90 percent of HTSA members were slated to attend the anniversary event, which was ran Oct. 18-20 at Chicago’s Westin Michigan Avenue.
