Toys‘R’Us To Return To Times Square For The Holidays

Toys“R”Us will return — temporarily — to New York’s Times Square after a two-year absence.

The company will open a temporary 35,000-square-foot retail store in the Knickerbocker Building at the corner of 42nd Street and Broadway this month. The store, which Toys“R”Us said is opening in response to consumer demand, will feature three levels and a demo area, all in time for the holiday selling season.

The company’s Buy Online, Pick Up In-Store omnichannel service will be available, providing consumers the ability to pick up items in less than an hour. It will also offer layaway.

A company spokeswoman said the retailer is in a short-term lease that will take it through at least the 2017 holiday season.
