Terry Succeeds Penney At Almo

PHILADELPHIA — Majap industry veteran Jay Penney has stepped down as head of Almo’s premium kitchen appliance division.

He will be succeeded by Steve Terry, who was promoted from VP to senior VP/COO of the distributor’s Specialty Products group.

Penney, a 15-year veteran of Frigidaire/ Electrolux, will remain on Almo’s advisory board, where he will continue to help guide the company’s strategic direction.

Penny joined the board in 2011, was named business development VP in 2012, and was promoted to executive VP of the specialty appliance unit in March.

His successor, Terry, joined Almo in April with over 35 years of majap industry experience, including 16 as executive VP of Hadco, a major independent white-goods distributor that was acquired by Viking Range in February.

The specialty appliance unit carries such premium kitchen brands as Alfresco and Artisan (outdoor kitchen), Capital (cooking), Faber (ventilation), Liehberr (refrigeration), U-Line (undercounter refrigeration) and Zephyr (ventilation).
