Greenville, S.C. — Synnex, parent company of CE distributor New Age Electronics, has developed an exclusive mobile app for Insteon, supplier of home-automation and control technology, to be used on Microsoft Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices.
New Age Electronics currently distributes Insteon products to the retail channel.
The launch of the new mobile app complements the Insteon product line and enables Synnex and New Age Electronics to provide commercial and retail customers with a cost-effective, cutting-edge mobile solution to monitor home and office automation, Synnex said.
With the help of Synnex, Insteon products are also now available from MicrosoftStore.com and will be available from Microsoft retail stores across the U.S. in early July. The Insteon mobile app is currently available for download on the Windows and Windows Phone Stores, Synnex said.
According to a recent market report published by Transparency Market Research, the home-automation market is expected to reach 16.4 billion by 2019, growing at a CAGR of 24.6 percent from 2013 to 2019. By developing the Windows and Windows Phone app, Synnex brings benefits of Insteon’s enhanced control, monitoring, and energy savings to homes and businesses and supports the constantly evolving, worldwide transition to a connected lifestyle, the distributor said.
Insteon devices give users the ability to set up lighting scenes, schedule lights to automatically turn on and off, and monitor their homes via wireless cameras from any mobile device. Insteon kits and modules allow users to receive instant notification alerts when doors and windows are opened or closed, or when there is a water leak in the home, all via the free Windows and Windows Phone app, the distributor said.
