Next up in joining the ranks of retailers with same-day delivery service? Sam’s Club.
The Walmart-owned warehouse club has partnered with Instacart to provide same-day delivery — one-hour delivery, in some cases — for groceries and small appliances.
The service will initially be offered in St. Louis and in Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, with more locations planned for this year.
Instacart customers will be able to shop Sam’s Clubs without a membership, although they won’t receive the member-only pricing on items.

The announcement comes on the heels of the chain’s renewed push on its e-commerce efforts. Last week, Sam’s Club outlined new initiatives in order to remain competitive with Amazon and Costco.
Target acquired Shipt late last year in order to provide a similar service, while Walmart picked up Parcel.
Amazon, of course, has the greatest head start of all in the same-day delivery race.
