Sony copped top honors at ProSource’s annual spring meeting this month.
The five-day event, held by the $4.5 billion specialty tech buying group, drew over 300 dealers, custom integrators and vendors to the Marriott Laguna Cliffs Resort and Spa in Dana Point, Calif., to share strategic plans, business insights and after-work libations.
A highlight of the gathering was the awarding of ProSource’s Vendor of the Year honors, based on member surveys and “channel considerations,” president/CEO Dave Workman told TWICE.
Copping dual nods as Video Vendor and Overall Vendor of the Year was Sony. “This channel was forgotten in the video world,” Workman said of the specialty A/V and custom-install crowd. “Sony put controls in place.”
Vendor of the Year honorees also included:
*Marantz, in the Performance Audio category;
*Sennheiser, in the Headphone category;
*Heos, in the Streaming Audio Devices category;
*AudioQuest, in the Furniture/Accessory category;
*Control4, in the Custom Integration category; and
*Origin Acoustics, in the New Vendor category.
