Amazon is once again a victim of its own success.
After a week of priming the pump for its Prime members-only mid-summer promotion, the company’s website crashed just as Prime Day launched, and was still finicky more than an hour into the 30-hour sale due to “unusually heavy traffic,” the site reported.
Shoppers naturally turned to Twitter to vent their frustration with the e-tailer-cum-Cloud-computing giant, including @jonmcbrine who wrote “To be fair, they had an entire year to prep for this.”

There’s been no statement as yet from Amazon on the outage.
