Four CE devices and one major appliance were among the 17 products picked by Popular Mechanics magazine as winners of its 2002 Design & Engineering Awards.
The awards, which editor-in-chief Joe Oldham described as “the highest honor we can bestow,” are based on innovation, invention, design and engineering. The winners include Kenwood’s Sovereign Entre hard drive-based audio server and Internet radio; Kodak’s DX3900 digital camera; Microsoft’s Xbox gaming platform; Zenith’s 60-inch plasma display; and Whirlpool’s Duet HT high efficiency washer and dryer.
The 17 winners will be featured in the December issue of Popular Mechanics, on sale tomorrow.
