Petra Marks 30th Anniversary With New State-Of-The-Art Warehouse

Leading CE distributor Petra Industries marked its 30th year in business last week by cutting the ribbon to a new 525,000-square-foot distribution center.

The recently acquired and renovated headquarters facility in Edmond, Okla., features an innovative warehouse management system that more than doubles the capacity of its traditional pick-and-pack operations.

“This warehouse is a game changer for Petra,” said founder/CEO Bill Stewart. “No one in the business has the capabilities that this warehouse affords us, and the potential it has to help us grow is incredible.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was followed by an anniversary reception for 300 attended by Petra staffers, local officials and friends and family. Petra president Tate Morgan used the occasion to present Stewart with a statue of the monument atop the Oklahoma State Capitol, commemorating the company’s progress from its launch three decades ago in a garage to the opening of the new half-million-square-foot distribution center.

“Bill started this company with a vision to build a business on a foundation of service, integrity and value for customers that would adapt and change at the same rapid pace as our industry,” Morgan said.

Today Petra carries over 22,000 CE, CI, A/V, mobile and majap connection products and accessories from more than 500 manufacturers, and continues to embrace the distributor’s dictum of “Service with integrity — value delivered.”
