Joining the trend of experimental brick-and-mortar, Otter Products will open its first retail store in its Fort Collins, Colo., hometown.
The accessory manufacturer, best known for its ultra-durable smartphone cases, is readying a 2,500-square-foot store for an Aug. 11 opening. The location will carry approximately 500 SKUs, including mobile accessories, Bluetooth speakers, coolers and tumblers from the Otter and Lifeproof lines. It will also feature such store-exclusive items as Odell Brewing Co. and Colorado State University-branded cases and bags, and will offer onsite printing for consumers to upload their own images to products.
“We’ve been considering a brick-and-mortar store in our hometown for years as a way to further connect with and cement the relationship with our community,” Otter communications manager Kristen Tatti told TWICE. “Additionally, it will serve as a proving ground for us to try new retail and merchandising technologies and techniques that we could translate to our retail and carrier customers.”
The company plans to use the space to host community events, as well as highlight its OtterCares Foundation.
Tatti noted that the company doesn’t plan to open any additonal locations. “We this Fort Collins location as our first and only.”
