New Age To Carry Mota Wearables, 3D Printer

Carson, Calif. – New Age Electronics, has signed a North American distribution agreement with Mota to sell its CE line of wearable devices, 3D printers and accessories.

The wearable devices include the Mota SmartWatch and Mota Interactive SmartGlass, creative products such as the Mota 3D printer, and Mota’s popular line of accessories for mobile, camera and other devices. In Canada, Mota is available through Synnex Canada Limited’s consumer electronics group.

Mota co-founder Kevin Faro told TWICE that the new-generation SmartWatch G2 Pro will ship June 28, the 3D printer is expected to reach the market in about 60 days and the SmartGlass in about 90 days.

The agreement supports New Age Electronics’ recently launched emerging technology strategy and Synnex Canada’s growing CE business, while simultaneously enhancing Mota’s channel program.

According to a study by NextMarket Insights, smart watch shipments will reach 15 million units in 2014 and increase to nearly 37 million units by 2015. The global market for 3D printer sales, materials and associated services is expected to reach $16.2 billion by 2018 according to independent research company Canalys.

“By bringing fashionable wearable devices and affordable 3D printer to retailers, we are helping fill two gaps in the industry and providing retailers with direct access to today’s most innovative products as the CE landscape continues to evolve,” said Fred Towns, president, New Age Electronics. “Mota products create new and exciting experiences that resonate with consumers’ ever-changing needs.”

Mota’s SmartWatch G2 Pro offers clear communication and a host of features by seamlessly integrating with Siri and Google Now. The smart watch can easily set up appointments, send emails, check the weather and much more. The Mota SmartGlass redefines interactive mobile devices with a wide array of functions including voice dial, data recording and a remote control camera. The Mota 3D printer offers high-precision, durable and dependable 3D modeling at an affordable price. MOTA products are available through New Age Electronics and SYNNEX Canada in a variety of channels, including regional retail, e-commerce, broadcast and more.

“Our agreement with New Age Electronics ensures more consumers than ever will discover and experience some of the industry’s most innovative, useful and exciting devices,” said Michael Faro, Mota co-founder. “The agreement positions our offerings in front of a very large audience and marks a major step forward in making Mota’s name synonymous with the most innovative consumer electronics products on the market.”
