Nationwide Adds $200M In New Memberships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.

– Nationwide Marketing Group
(NMG) said recent growth in membership has increased
its total sales volume by over $200 million. Recent dealer
additions include former NATM chain Queen City, as well
as California’s Friedmans, Friedmans Appliance Center and
Airport Home Appliance. NMG executive VP Robert Weisner
said four of the top 20 U.S. appliance dealers are now
Nationwide members, underscoring the group’s continuing
growth. Queen City, which was an early member of Nationwide,
was incorrectly listed in a recent TWICE combined
Top 100 Retailers supplement as still being affiliated with
NATM.

TEAC To Supply PRO

MONTEBELLO, CALIF.

— TEAC America will begin
supplying its CE products to the Progressive Retailers
Organization (PRO Group), including its high-end audio
Reference Series 2010 line. In August the group said it
would also carry Harman Consumer’s mobile audio products
under the Infinity and JBL brands, and earlier this
year PRO brought in Speaker-
Craft’s line of custom speakers
and electronics

LG, Conn’s Host
Free CE Recycling

DALLAS

– LG Electronics
and Conn’s, along with Waste
Management Recycle America
and CBS Radio, joined forces
to provide free CE recycling to
Dallas-Fort Worth residents on
Sept. 11. The event was part
of the LG’s recycling program,
designed to provide consumers
with a convenient way to
dispose of unwanted CE. Every
participating family received a
coupon for $25 off on any LG
energy-saving HDTV, 42 inches
or larger, good at any of the 19
area Conn’s.

Separately, LG teamed with
Best Buy in promoting 3D TV
during the first 3D telecast of an
NCAA football game, when Virginia
Tech took on Boise State
on Labor Day evening.

MELVILLE, N.Y.
