Mega Group USA kicked out the jams last month when it capped off its inaugural Business Academy Leadership Retreat by treating a dozen attendees to a Pearl Jam concert.

The two-day retreat, held in Jacksonville, Fla., blended business techniques with peer-group support to maximize the classroom instruction. Discussions touched on leadership, company culture, training, financing and marketing, and by the end of the program each member dealer committed to a customized tactical action plan and an “accountability partner” to support them with the implementation.

Attendees, representing a dozen Mega dealerships, celebrated the course’s completion by attending the first-ever Jacksonville appearance by Pearl Jam, as part of the band’s 25th anniversary tour. According to the Florida Times-Union, the band offered up 32 songs during the nearly three-hour concert, including two seven-song encores that ended with “Yellow Ledbetter.”

The Mega dealers will be able to continue their Leadership Retreat dialogue through a private group-chat portal through which they can share advertising ideas, ask questions, receive exclusive training, learn new techniques, and hold each other accountable to the goals they set, the group said.

Mega Group serves 1,700 independent furniture, CE, appliance, and bedding dealers across the country operating some 3,000 showrooms. For more information, contact training director Doug Stewart or visit MegaGroupUSA.com.
