Mega Group Adds Staff

Germantown, Tenn. – Mega Group USA, the national buying group for independent furniture, mattress, majap and CE dealers, has added two new staff members.

Fredella Prather, a 10-year veteran of Whirlpool and former independent majap dealer herself, joins as field marketing manager overseeing Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

Mega president Rick Bellows said the appointment reflects a reduction in territory size in the Southwest market, allowing “more touches with our dealers and … even better support for business growth.”

In addition, Doug Stewart has joined the buying group from Guardsman, the furniture protection plan provider, as training and business development director. He reports to business services VP Mallory Parker, who noted that Stewart’s “enthusiasm for product protection will enhance the performance and profitability for Mega dealers,” while “his focus will deliver benefits for our dealers and facilitate faster growth.”

Mega boasts over 1,600 dealer members operating 3,000 storefronts throughout the U.S., and offers a wide range of retail products and services including web marketing, health and business insurance, group vendor programs, custom advertising, store merchandising, consulting and IT support.

It said its programs were developed to help drive floor traffic, enhance operating efficiencies and improve sales and profits for its members.
