Ken Crane’s Opens New Store

High-end specialty A/V chain Ken Crane’s Home Entertainment City is opening a new 14,000-square-foot store here this week.

The unit, located in a former warehouse, is the largest of the regional retailer’s eight Los Angeles and Orange County stores, and replaces a smaller Pasadena location.

According to Ken Crane’s corporate director Tom Campbell, the new store is focused on HDTV, home theater and other digital categories, and will carry a large contingent of plasma and LCD flat-panel screens.

The privately held company is kicking off the new site with a grand opening celebration this week.

In other Ken Crane’s news (see picture), a group of regulators and broadcasters from Argentina, Brazil, Chile and South Korea on a trip sponsored by the ATSC Forum visited the chain to learn about HDTV on the retail level.
