Ingram Micro CE Unit Hosts Its Largest Spring Event

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. –

Ingram Micro’s consumer
electronics division (IMCE) welcomed 125 consumer
electronics and technology vendors and 150 resellers
to the IMCE Spring 2012 Vendor Expo.

Themed “The Power of Partnership,” the event took
place April 25- 27 at the J.W. Marriott at Desert Ridge
in Phoenix, which the CE distributor said was “the largest
and the most impressive event in IMCE history.”

With all event-related activities centered on The
Power of Partnership, the Expo stressed the importance
of creating new partnerships and leveraging the
strengths of existing partnerships to drive synergy, the
distributor said.

With this theme in mind, the Expo kicked off with a
Wednesday night dinner that featured a presentation
by Brent McCarty, VP and general manager of IMCE
and a keynote address from former Dallas Cowboy
quarterback Danny White.

Awards were distributed to four individuals who
were recognized as strong partners of IMCE: Stephen
Scotti, senior manager of Samsung; Jim Ristow, executive
VP of BrandSource; Nancy Bergman, sales VP of
Soul Electronics; and Alexandra Harding, who was recently
promoted to vendor management and purchasing
director of IMCE.

For the first time ever, the IMCE Spring Expo was
held on a Thursday and featured one-on-one meetings
and longer show hours. The morning one-on-ones
ensured that vendors and customers had scheduled
one-on-one time to share product information, discuss
any program or pricing issues and explore business
partnership opportunities, the company said.

Later that afternoon, the tabletop Expo with more
than 450 attendees spanned for six hours, longer than
the traditional four-hour show. McCarty stated, “The
size of the IMCE Expo has significantly grown year
over year. To maximize the potential of this event, the
Expo schedule needed to evolve in order to meet both
vendor and customer expectations. We are glad that
these changes not only met those expectations but exceeded
them.”

Following the show Friday, IMCE hosted a charity golf
tournament with proceeds going to Rescue a Golden of
Arizona and The United Way. Associates, resellers, and
vendors of IMCE began with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start
on the Palmer Course at the Wildfire Golf Club. Golden
Retrievers from Rescue A Golden of AZ welcomed the
golfers as they arrived on the course. Attendees who
were not interested in participating in golf were given
the option to participate in a local hike up Pinnacle Peak
Mountain or enjoy breakfast at the resort.
