Electronic Express, the Nashville-based CE, appliance and home-furnishings chain, has become the latest NATM Buying Corp. member to join the ProSource buying group as an associate member.
ProSource, which caters to A/V-centric dealers and custom integrators, created the associate member category two years ago, permitting NATM retailers to partake in ProSource’s high-end audio programs.
Electronic Express follows fellow NATM regionals ABC Warehouse, Abt Electronics, BrandsMart USA, Nebraska Furniture Mart, R.C. Willey and Video Only into associate member status.
ProSource has also added 12 custom integrators to the group. They are:
*Alpha Dog Security, St. Johns, Fla.
*Apex Audio Video, Austin, Texas
*Custom Installation & Design, Hurricane, Utah
*Elite AV, Las Vegas
*EOC Audio, Wheaton, Ill.
*First Priority Audio, Pompano Beach, Fla.
*HAAS Home Technologies, Austin, Texas
*Pair Electronics, Greenville, N.C.
*Premium Digital Control & Automation, Hollywood, Fla.
*Rampart Security Systems, Orlando, Fla.
*Spycom Technology Solutions, Lancaster, Pa.
*Texas Home Theaters, Conroe, Texas
ProSource is the industry’s largest specialty A/V buying group, with some $5 billion in sell-through and more than 550 members.
In contrast, NATM is comprised of a dozen of the country’s largest regional and multiregional tech and appliance chains, which together account for more than $6 billion in annual sales at retail.
Seventeen-store Electronic Express was founded in 1983 by brothers Sam and Abe Yazdian. The big-box chain has survived floods and market intrusions by Conn’s and hhgregg to become the largest independent retailer in Tennessee and Northern Alabama. It joined NATM in 2003.
