Azione Finds Security In New Distributor Deal

Azione Unlimited, the education and buying group for custom integrators, has added leading security products distributor Tri-Ed to its vendor member ranks. The move, explained Azione president Richard Glikes, will give the group access to an increasingly critical product category.

“Integrators have diversified, as our clients are demanding more than just audio and video,” he said. “Our dealers are selling security and tons of cameras. To partner with the largest independent security distributor in North America is huge.”

Tri-Ed, founded in 1982, has over 60 branches across the U.S. and Canada carrying a full line of CCTV, IP video, access control, fire alarms, intruder alerts, sound, communications, structured cabling, and home-automation products from leading manufacturers.

CED Holds Court At 16th Annual Fall Ball

CED, a premium regional distributor of name-brand consumer and specialty electronics for the Chicago metropolitan market and broader Midwest, hosted dealers and manufacturers at three different events for their 16th annual Fall Ball series. Some 300 local dealers from CED’s five-state territory were joined by trainers and representatives from nearly 30 manufacturers including LG, Clare Controls, Nest and Luxul, who provided demos and training on new products like Yamaha MusicCast, and raffled off products including LG’s OLED TVs.

“As we head into CEDIA Expo and the final quarter of the year, we feel confident that we have armed our dealers with powerful sales, product and marketing knowledge through these three events,” said CED president Avery Baron.

D&H.com Now Suited For Mobile Phones

IT and CE resource D&H Distributing has launched a mobile version of its DandH.com website, with navigation and functions optimized for smartphone screens. The format allows on-the-go or off-site dealers to more easily access the company’s online content and features, the distributor said. Customers can log-in through the mobile-friendly interface to search, shop and manage their orders as usual, and access optimized versions of such D&H features as manufacturer search, easy-to-read stock status checks, and a mobile-optimized ordering screen. The DandH.com shopping cart also syncs between the user’s phone and PC, so cart items are accessible across multiple platforms.

“Our website has been touted for its ease-of-use and functionality since it launched back in the year 2000,” said sales senior VP Jeff Davis. “These new mobile optimizations are the latest update in that decade- and-a-half-long commitment.”

Class In Session For Capitol At CEDIA Expo 2015

Capitol, the CE distributor serving pro A/V contractors, residential systems specialists, retailers and premium incentive resellers, will conduct four solution-based manufacturer product training (MPT) classes this Friday at the CEDIA Expo 2015 in Dallas. Designed to help attendees leverage high-growth areas, this year’s sessions will include: Introduction to Commercial Audio Systems; Introduction to Home Control & Automation; Network Basics for the Beginner; and IP Cameras, DVR/NVR Networking, & Digital Surveillance.

“We are showing you the best solutions within a range of brands and products,” compared to CEDIA’s own product agnostic classes and manufacturers’ brand-biased trainings, said Capitol technical sales and design specialist Mike Marko.
