D&H Marking Its Centennial With Online ‘Countdown’

D&H Distributing will make it to the ripe old age of 100 next year — a mean feat for any business let alone a tech company — and what a long, strange trip it’s been.

One of only two remaining family-owned national CE distributors, the company has weathered depressions, recessions, the ravages of nature and two world wars to retain its place on Forbes’ list of America’s Largest Private Companies for 17 years running.

To mark its pending centennial, the Harrisburg, Pa.-based business has created a dedicated Centennial Countdown microsite that recounts its rise from a small tire retreading start-up in 1918, to a distributor of radios during the Great Depression; industrial products through two wars; personal computers in the 1980s; and all manner of IT and CE devices and support services today.

“The technologies and products we represent have changed over the decades,” noted co-president Michael Schwab. “However, our commitment to service and dedication to our partners will be part of our roots, and our future, forever.”

The Schwab family maintains distribution facilities in Harrisburg; Atlanta; Chicago; Fresno, Calif.; and Brampton, Ontario, Canada, and carries a diverse product assortment spanning A/V, mobility, smart home, small office/home office, video surveillance, digital imaging, video gaming, Cloud-based solutions, home and outdoors products, housewares, sports and recreation, AR/VR, virtual assistants and wearables.

Access to the celebratory website, located at DandDH.com/Countdown, is limited to company customers, although dealers, e-tailers and resellers are welcome to partner up at DandH.com.
