Memphis, Tenn. – Conn’s, the Texas-based multiregional chain, has opened it fourth HomePlus superstore in Tennessee.
The 50,000-square-foot furniture, appliance and CE showroom is the second in Memphis, and joins two other Volunteer State stores, in Madison and Knoxville.
So far only the Madison store, located outside Nashville, is in direct competition with Electronic Express, whose 18 big-box CE, appliance and bedding stores are largely concentrated in that market. The two chains were longtime co-members of the NATM Buying Corp. before Conn’s expansion plans in the West, Southwest and Southeast compelled it to leave the buying group.
The company, based in The Woodlands, Texas, currently operates 90 stores in ten states and plans to open 15 to 18 new locations this year.
