SEATTLE — CarToys, a 29-unit mobile audio and wireless communications specialty retailer, has signed VAC Service Corporation to administer its extended service program.
The move represents the first time the independent merchant has outsourced administration of its service program since the company’s founding in 1987.
“CarToys is experiencing major growth … and the demands of the program require a change,” said Daniel Brettler, the merchant’s chairman/ president/CEO and a 1999 winner of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
CarToys, which plans to open 17 stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth market over the next year, will initially turn over administration of its wireless phone service program to VAC, followed by mobile audio once the changeover is complete, the companies said.
Middletown, N.Y.-based VAC administers warranty and extended service programs for electronics, appliances and other categories; installs and services PCs and satellite systems; and provides telemarketing services.
