Capitol Drew 175 To CEDIA Expo Classes

Eagan, Minn. — Capitol conducted five free MPT education classes on Sept. 27 as part of the company’s presence at the CEDIA Expo 2013 in Denver and drew more than 175 industry professionals.

The 90-minute sessions were designed to help integrators make the most of these products and technologies, including practical marketing, application-based training, sales, and installation tips to help maximize growth and profitability, according to the distributors.

The integrators attended Capitol’s classes on commercial and residential applications for IP cameras, DVR networking, and digital surveillance as well as introductions to the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) telephone, commercial audio, sound masking and digital signage markets. The classes were led by Mike Marko, a CEDIA certified instructor and longtime member of Capitol’s technical sales and design staff.

“We work hard to provide our customers with every tool imaginable to help them succeed, and offering classes like these at shows like CEDIA are just one piece of the puzzle,” noted Curt Hayes, president and CFO of Capitol. “The strong turnout — with an average of 35 people taking 90 minutes off from a busy and important show — reinforces our belief in and commitment to providing practical, valuable training in addition to the an incredible selection of products at competitive prices.”

The full day of training sessions was part of the “Grow Your Business” training courses regularly offered to customers through the company’s Capitol Learning Institute (CLI).

The education program features key vendors and in-house experts providing application-based training in the most relevant new products and technologies in their lines, as well as proven tools and techniques for increasing sales through cost-effective marketing and business management practices, Capitol said.
