BrandSource Partners With Professional Service Association

Members gain access to PSA’s deep service library, PSANet

The BrandSource Service Committee recently announced it has forged a formal partnership with the Professional Service Association (PSA), the leading trade organization dedicated to the long-term success of the appliance repair channel.

Since its founding in 1989, the Iowa-based association has acted as the “Voice of the Independent Servicer,” and has worked on behalf of these businesses to address such industrywide challenges as inadequate billing rates, increased product complexity and decreased vendor support, and a dearth of trained technicians.

Under the new pact with PSA, BrandSource dealers will be afforded a special, discounted rate for membership, which will entitle them to all of the association’s benefits. These include access to PSA’s vast service library which includes service bulletins, wiring diagrams and repair details on hundreds of appliance products dating back 40 years, as well as access to PSANet, the trade group’s peer-to-peer email platform that allows hundreds of fellow service professionals to share best practices and seek and provide advice.

PSA, through its partnership with national trade career association SkillsUSA, also supports and promotes technical skills training at high schools and colleges across the country.

The new partnership will also provide specialized training programs for BrandSource member technicians; discounts on the association’s ISO-approved certification program for technicians and service managers; and a special discounted rate to attend PSA’s annual National Appliance Service Convention. This year’s event is slated for Sept. 20-24 in Orlando.

BrandSource General Manager Jarred Roy described the new pact as “a collaborative endeavor to share key learnings, mutual resources, education, industry enhancements and to grow the future of the trade through a partnership with SkillsUSA.”

Added Roy, “The partnership will continue to further the direction of PSA’s unique growth in the service sector while supporting BrandSource’s position as the industry’s group supporting independent servicing dealers for over 50 years.”

Randy Carney, Executive Director of PSA, said his organization is “pleased to have this opportunity to work with the great people at BrandSource in support of appliance service. It means great things for both of our groups and I’m really excited about it.”
