Maytag’s presence within Best Buy stores has broadened.

The Whirlpool brand, long a staple of the retailer’s 177-some-odd Pacific Kitchen & Home premium appliance departments, will now join the majap rank-and-file within 600 of Best Buy’s 1,037 big-box stores.

Whirlpool said the stores will carry Maytag’s full kitchen and laundry line, which is already available at and should be floored by mid-April.

The assortment joins products by Maytag sister brands Amana, KitchenAid and Whirlpool at the No. 4 appliance chain.

“Our goal is to give our customers the best selection of top appliances, and partnering with Whirlpool to offer Maytag products is the latest example of that commitment,” said Best Buy appliances senior VP Kevin Balon.

Added Sam Abdelnour, the No. 1 majap vendor’s North American sales VP: “Whirlpool is excited about the growth that Best Buy is seeing in their appliances division, and we believe that offering our full portfolio of appliance brands in their stores can only foster greater success for both companies. The power, durability and reliability that Maytag appliances offer has the potential to add a new dimension for Best Buy customers.”
