Amazon plans to win the holidays through a one-two knockout punch of low prices and customer convenience.
To make its point, the No. 1 e-tailer today promised to offer the “lowest prices on select Samsung, LG and Sony TVs.” Models and sale dates were unspecified, but would ostensibly appear sometime during its month-long Black Friday promotional window, which begins Nov. 18 and extends through Dec. 22.

To grab the best deals, the company is urging customers to download its mobile shopping app, which features an alert that notifies shoppers when a new sale item is about to post.
The tracker should prove indispensable for dedicated Amazon followers, as new deals will appear as often as every five minutes, the retailer said.
(In addition, one-year Prime memberships will be trimmed by $20, to $79, this Friday only, as part of a promotion for a new Amazon-produced series, “The Grand Tour.”)
Beyond the promised Samsung, LG and Sony deals, here’s a sampling of what TV shoppers can expect:
*a 43-inch 4K Ultra HD smart TV for $199 (brand unidentified);
*a 32-inch 720p LED T for $70 (brand unidentified);
* a 32-inch TCL 720p smart TV for $125;
*a 55-inch LG 4K smart TV for $398;
* a “premium brand” 60-inch 4K Ultra HD smart TV for $599; and
*a “premium brand” 55-inch 1080p smart LED TV for $298.
