After cancelling its exclusive July Prime member event, Amazon has finally announced the official dates for Prime Day 2020 – October 13-14. The event features deals on everything from Amazon’s new Echo and Dot models, to home gym equipment and televisions.

Traditionally held in July since its inception in 2015, Prime Day was delayed this year because of the pandemic and the resulting increase of online shipping experienced by the online retailer. Amazon Prime Day 2020 begins Tuesday, October 13 at 12am (PT) and ends on Wednesday, October 14 at 11:59pm (PT).

In 2017, Amazon expanded Prime Day’s duration. The retail holiday expanded from a 24-hour event to one that lasted for 30 hours. In 2018, Amazon lengthened the holiday to 36 hours and in 2019 it lasted a full 48 hours. Prime Day 2020 will once again last for 48 hours.

While the deals are searchable by anyone, you have to be an Amazon Prime member to purchase at the discounted rates. Fortunately, Amazon offers limited trial memberships you can take advantage of if you are not a current member – or you can sign up for a membership here and be ready for the event.

Amazon recently announced their 2020 product launches, including the new Amazon Echo – and its new sphere design. This means Amazon’s previous-gen devices will hit the bargain bin this Prime Day, whereas Amazon’s new 2020 devices will see more modest price cuts that could range from $20 to $50 off (based on the Prime Day deals we saw last year). Those items that will launch post-Prime Day will likely be on sale on Black Friday.
