Amazon has officially thrown down the holiday season gauntlet.
As the calendar page turned to November the e-tailer launched its Black Friday Deals Store, offering discounts on tech, toys, clothing and home goods now through the day after Thanksgiving.
“We’re excited to officially kickoff another holiday season, bringing customers better deals than ever before on everything they’ll need,” said Doug Herrington, Amazon’s senior VP, North American retail.
Among the CE set, the e-tailer is promising “great deals” on premium TVs from LG, Samsung and Sony, while new shopping features include AR View, an augmented reality app for iOS11 that lets customers visualize how products will look in their homes.
In addition, the company will go live on Nov. 8 with its Amazon Key remote in-home delivery service, and reminds us that more than 100 million items are now available with free delivery to all customers.
And for those who like to shop the old fashion way, Amazon now has a dozen bookstores open from coast to coast in Bellevue, Wash.; Boston; Chicago; Los Angeles; New York; Portland, Wash.; San Diego; San Jose, Calif.; and Seattle. It’s also operating a fleet of “Treasure Trucks” laden with special offers in 25 cities.
