The Accent’s On Education At BrandSource Convention

The buying group is planning more than 130 training sessions for the show.

BrandSource is planning a record 130 training sessions for its upcoming 2018 National Convention in Las Vegas, where the accent will squarely be on education.

The member-owned merchandising group, which will convene Aug. 26-29 at Caesars Palace, said it will offer breakout sessions on everything from digital marketing strategies to succession planning and business finance advice.

Classes will be led by industry leaders including keynote speaker and digital marketing evangelist Erik Qualman, best-selling author and motivational speaker Glenn Bill, and Google agency development manager Andrew Leonard.

BrandSource CEO Jim Ristow said the expanded educational roster has helped goose attendance. “With the elevated education tools to drive business into the stores our attendance has really spiked,” he noted. “I am proud that so many of our members are stepping away from their companies to come to the convention to work on their business.”

BrandSource’s corporate entity Associated Volume Buyers (AVB), comprised of five core divisions and strategic partnerships, boasts nearly 4,500 members across North America with over 8,000 stores and more than $19 billion in sell-through.
