ZTE, Houston Rockets Wrap Up Season Of Giving

Richardson, Texas — ZTE USA and the Houston Rockets wrapped up their second annual Season of Giving program in which ZTE staff, Rockets organization members, and Rockets players and coaches participated in a series events for those in need in the Houston area.

This year’s community events, running through November and December, included a Thanksgiving celebration with the Houston Area Urban League, where Rockets players and ZTE staff delivered groceries and gift cards to 85 families in need. That event was followed by a Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital holiday party in which players, ZTE staff, Rockets Power Dancers and mascot Clutch held a party in Fondren Park with arts and crafts, video games and gifts. The final event was the Boys & Girls Club Holiday Extravaganza at Toyota Center, where Rockets players and ZTE staff hosted a holiday event for 100 children from the Houston area. The event included games, dinner and gifts that included bikes, helmets and backpacks.

ZTE USA also supports other charitable organizations, including a Kansas City, Mo., residential home that offers preventative and therapeutic services to children suffering the effects of abuse and neglect. ZTE also hosts a charity golf tournament and various events with the Boys & Girls Club.

ZTE was the Rockets official smartphone sponsor for the 2013-14 NBA season, marking ZTE’s first corporate partnership in the world. ZTE earlier this year expanded its NBA partnerships by becoming the official smartphone sponsor of the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors and extending the Rocket’s partnership for another year.
