Pebble has announced that it is expanding its wearable lineup with a novel new device. The Pebble Index 01 is a ring that can record voice notes at the press of the button, which are then sent to the wearer’s phone for later review.
The Pebble Index 01 is made from water-resistant stainless steel, and according to Pebble, the battery lasts for years without the need for any charging. In addition to voice notes being sent to the user’s phone for review, the ring can also be used to set reminders or add events to a calendar. If a phone is out of range, the ring can store up to five minutes of audio locally. Privacy is enhanced, as the Index 01 only records when its button is pressed.
The Pebble Index 01 is compatible with both iOS and Android phones, and is currently available for pre-order in three colors (polished silver, polished gold, and matte black) for $75. No subscription service is required, and shipping is slated to begin in March.
