Hauppauge, N.Y. – Voxx Electronics is expanding distribution of its latest telematics product, the $169-suggested Car Connection Pro.
The company added car-dealer expediter Auto Action Group of New Jersey as an authorized seller, joining multiple 12-volt specialists, a spokesperson said.
The device is a step up from the company’s existing Car Connection telematics products and is promoted as Voxx’s most advanced telematics product to date.
Car Connection Pro lets consumers use a smartphone app for remote tracking and monitoring of a vehicle and its systems and for remote control of the vehicle’s aftermarket remote-start and remote-security system. It requires a $10/month subscription plan with no contract required. The remote start/security system is a separate purchase.
The original Car Connection lacks ability to integrate with Voxx’s remote start/security systems.
Both telematics products let users track and set boundaries for vehicles when driven by others, prevent texting while driving, and monitor fuel consumption, vehicle diagnostics and driver speed.
When installed with a remote start/security system, the Pro version also enables a smartphone to remotely lock/unlock vehicle doors and trunk and remotely start the vehicle to cool down or heat up the car.
The two products also send notifications via email or text message.
