Irvine, Calif. — Vizio has introduced its second Ultra HD TV lineup with nine new LED models, all with smart-TV capabilities.
The new M-series Ultra HD full-array LED smart-TV collection offers screen sizes from 43 to 80 inches, all featuring a spatial scaling engine to up-scale lower-resolution content to near-4K, along with full-array LED backlighting with up to 32 active LED zones.
Full-array LED backlighting offers an even distribution of light for superior uniformity as compared with edge-lit TVs, the company said, and the active LED zones are said to deliver precise, controlled backlighting with extremely high contrast and deep black levels. Active pixel tuning enables pixel-level adjustments of brightness for increased picture accuracy and contrast.
To improve fast-action scenes such as live sports, the M-series lineup offers "up to Clear Action 720" with a 240Hz effective refresh rate achieved with backlight scanning for sharper detail, Vizio said.
The line has Vizio's latest-generation smart-TV platform, Vizio Internet Apps Plus, driven by dual-band Wi-Fi and a V6 six-core processor.
The TVs support HDCP 2.2 playback and have HDMI 2.0 connectors.
All TVs in the line include a two-sided remote with a backlit QWERTY keyboard.
The M series is rolling out now to retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, BJ’s Wholesale, Costco Wholesale, Sam’s Club, Target and Walmart, and on Vizio.com.
