U-Line Turns 50

MILWAUKEE –

U-Line, the premium undercounter
appliance maker, said it is marking
its 50th anniversary this year with a new line
of modular under-counter refrigeration units
that offer “advanced technology, aesthetic elegance
and seamless integration” for use in today’s
modern kitchens and lifestyles.

The company, based here, was founded 50
years ago by Henry Uihlein, Sr., who developed
and patented the first automatic under-counter
ice maker for residential use in 1962. The company
is now celebrating its third generation of
family management.

U-Line is kicking off its second half-century
with the introduction of the Modular 3000 series,
which offers a clean, modern design with
adjustable doors, toe-kicks and concealed
hinges for seamless integration into most cabinet
designs. The series also offers four distinct
temperature settings for precise beverage refrigeration
and maximum food preservation,
and features a quick-chill option for rapidly
cooling food and beverages for hosts that are
short on prep time.

“We’re extremely proud to reach this milestone,”
said Jennifer Uihlein, granddaughter
of Henry and current company president.
“Throughout our history U-Line’s growth has
been fueled by our desire to continue offering
innovative design solutions with exceptional
functionality, style and selection for every lifestyle.
My grandfather was committed to providing
innovative, compelling, high-quality products
and unparalleled customer service. We pledge
to continue that legacy in our next half-century.”
