Toshiba Adds Watertight Camileo Camcorder

Irvine, Calif. – Toshiba this week unveiled the latest addition to its line of Camileo camcorders, this time offering a ruggedized version for outdoor shooting.

Camileo model BW20 (shipping now at a $130 suggested retail) is built to be waterproof to a depth of 16 feet. It’s dust-resistant and can handle drops from up to 5 feet. It also includes a floating wrist strap to prevent the camera from sinking when used in the water.

The camcorder will record up to FullHD 1080p videos and is equipped with an f/2.2 aperture lens for low-light shooting, a 5-megapixel backside illuminated CMOS sensor, and includes image stabilization.

The BW20 was also designed to make it easy to instantly share movies and still images with friends and family on social-networking sites like Facebook and YouTube, via supplied Camileo Uploader software.

It is equipped with an HDMI output to connect to TVs and display monitors to view recordings on larger screens.
