Actor Tom Cruise and Hollywood director Chris McQuarrie took time out from shooting “Mission: Impossible Fallout” this week to post a video urging HDTV owners to turn off the motion interpolation features on their sets.
“If you own a modern high-definition television, there’s a good chance you’re not watching movies the way the filmmakers intended,” McQuarrie said. Cruise added that filmmakers are working with manufacturers to change the way motion smoothing is activated, and to make the setting more accessible to consumers.
