Santa Fe Springs, Calif. — Swann Security introduced this week a digital wireless security system featuring a camera, monitor and motion-triggered recording technology.
Swann said the ADW-410 plug-and-play wireless surveillance system is shipping now at $249 suggested retail and is available at such stores as B&H Photo, hhgregg, Meijer, Petra and others.
The system offers a do-it-yourself security solution, with day and night HD-quality video that is accessible remotely from mobile devices and tablets.
The camera offers 720p HD video resolution and is capable of recording subjects from 165 feet. It uses 20 IR LED’s.
In addition, the camera has a built-in microphone capable of picking up sound from a distance of 16 feet.
Users can monitor what’s happening 24/7, and are notified via smartphone or tablet when the camera’s motion-triggered feature detects activity.
The IP66 weather-resistant rating means the cameras can be mounted inside or outside.
For added surveillance convenience, the camera features a high-resolution 7-inch LCD touchscreen monitor and built-in battery, enabling the user to view a live feed in different locations within the home or business.
While on the go, users can watch the feed using the free SwannLink app, compatible with Android and iOS devices.
SwannLink connectivity uses peer-to-peer technology to connect to the Internet using the SwannLink server in the Cloud and a product ID number.
Each system is assigned a unique QR code and ID number. Once scanned, the QR code checks the ID number on the server to confirm the owner’s username and password. It then connects the user directly using a secure 128-bit encrypted connection.
The system’s motion-triggered video recording capability enables longer recording periods of time. The system includes an 8GB MicroSD card (memory is expandable up to 32GB) that saves video feeds.
