4G Sony Tablet Goes To Verizon

BEDMINSTER, N.J. – Verizon rolled out Sony’s 3G/4G-equipped Z2 tablet on an exclusive basis, pricing it at $599 without contract and $499 with two-year contract.

Also without contract, the 10.1-inch tablet can be paid off on an installment plan requiring $29.99/month payments for 20 months. After 60 percent of the tablet is paid off, users can upgrade to another tablet.

The Android tablet, which features 4K video capture, is promoted as the world’s slimmest and lightest waterproof tablet in the 8-inch-andlarger class. It is 0.25 inches thick and weighs 15.5 ounces.

The tablet features Qualcomm Snapdragon 2.3 GHz processor quad-core Krait CPU, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM and integrated Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology, which enables devices to charge up to 75 percent faster than devices without the fast charging technology.

ZTE Projector/Hot Spot On The Way

OVERLAND PARK, KAN. — Sprint plans to offer ZTE’s pocket projector and mobile hot spot. The device, called the Sprint Live- Pro, combines a 3G/4G LTE mobile hotspot with a mini projector with a 10-inch to 10-foot projection display. Users can share content via HDMI or USB cables or wirelessly mirror a smartphone or tablet display using Wi-Fi Miracast.

Sprint plans to offer it through its stores, direct-ship channels and its website for 24 monthly payments of $18.75. Sprint mobile broadband data plans for LivePro start at $34.99/month for 3GB of Sprint-network data.A $49.99 plan offers 6GB of data, and a $79.99 plan offer 12GB.

T-Mobile Adds Installment Plan

BELLEVUE, WASH. — T-Mobile will become the first national carrier to extend its installment payment program beyond smartphones and tablets to include accessories.

Starting July 20, T-Mobile customers can take advantage of the carrier’s EIP (equipment installment plan) extended-payment option on all accessories priced from $69 to $250. The deal applies to wearables such as the Samsung Gear Fit, wireless speakers, headphones, and other products. All will be available with $0 down. The EIP is available through T-Mobile stores.
