Sprint Offers Money-Back Guarantee To Switch

Sprint wants to take the hesitation out of switching to its network with the launch of a 30-day money-back guarantee to consumers who switch from another network.

The limited-time offer, said CEO Marcelo Claure, will give consumers “the opportunity to try us out worry-free” and experience the carrier’s upgraded LTE network; what he called “the best price” on unlimited plans; and the opportunity under a current promotion, extended in February, to save 50 percent off most standard rate plans offered by their current carrier when they switch.

Sprint also pays off up to $650 in fees imposed by their current carrier per line for switching.

The carrier has been ramping up its promotional stance since falling to fourth place last June among the four national carriers by subscriber base.

The satisfaction guarantee is available for a limited time to new customers and eligible small-business customers who activate at a Sprint-owned store or preferred retailer, by calling (800) SPRINT1, or online at Sprint.com. The guarantee also is available to current customers who add new lines of service in a Sprint store, online at Sprint.com or by calling Sprint’s toll-free number.

Under the guarantee, if a new customer deactivates his Sprint phone or tablet within 30 days, Sprint will credit all device charges (including installment billing, lease payments and early termination fees when the device is returned to Sprint). The carrier will also reimburse the customer for the purchase price or down payment, activation fee, and all associated taxes and fees.

Some charges won’t be reimbursed. They consist of premium content, third-party billing, international charges such as international voice roaming not included in the user’s plan, and associated taxes and Sprint surcharges.
