Overland Park, Kansas – Sprint will expand its Direct 2 You service June 1 to Kansas City, Miami and Chicago, joining April launches in Kansas City, Chicago and Miami.
The service will continue to roll out to more markets across the country throughout 2015, including New York, San Francisco and Denver in early June as part of a nationwide expansion to major markets planned by the end of the year.
Sprint also expanded eligibility for the program from existing Sprint customers seeking an upgrade to all consumers who want to switch to Sprint in the participating markets.
Under the program, Sprint will roll out a fleet of 5,000 vehicles that go to a customer’s home, office, or other location, including coffee shops, for free to deliver and set up phones, transfer content, and personalize settings. Sprint experts also perform an on-site tutorials and offer tips to familiarize customers with the new service. The service is available only in specific delivery zones within participating markets and to “well-qualified” customers, Sprint said.
To get Direct 2 You service, a customer schedules an appointment by calling an 800 number found at www.sprint.com/direct2you.
The service was announced in April and was followed in May with the launch of a partnership between AT&T and e-tail startup GoEnjoy.com to offer free hand-delivery and in-person support service , initially in New York City and the San Francisco Bay area, on a limited number of SKUs. The AT&T service began May 19.
